FRISSON is a group of images taken in Costa Rica, Colombia, Mexico, Scotland and Hollywood. They are interpretations of the natural world aiming to illuminate the origins of magic.
Born in Santa Barbara California in 1987, Lucas was raised by his mother, a painter, in Woodstock New York and Costa Rica. He studied digital arts at the University of Oregon before being accepted to the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara…. Upon arriving in Santa Barbara he chose to accept an offer to be an assistant teacher of digital photography at the Santa Barbara City College and withdrew from Brooks. While working at the City College his work was featured in Santa Barbara Magazine, Montecito Magazine and The Montecito Journal. In 2007 he moved to New York City to attend The New School for visual art. In 2009 Lucas was given a solo show at The New School’s Eugene Lang building in Greenwich Village. This was followed by a shared exhibition in Art Basel Miami with painter Simon Birch at AE District Gallery, and a group show at Eastern District Gallery in Brooklyn NY. His work was also featured in the San Diego Times. He currently lives in New York City and is finishing his BA at The New School.
This show will run from January 17th-February 21st.
The reception will take place January 27th from 7-10pm at 17 Frost St, Brooklyn NY.
