The Tank, a non-profit performing arts space in Manhattan, is currently seeking an assistant curator of experimental music and mixed media. Due to the overwhelming success of several of our recent programs, The Tank needs to expand its curatorial team in the experimental music and mixed media realm.
The assistant curator will assist the curator with all aspects of programming and running the experimental music series including:
- Working with the curator to review submissions and make programming decisions about what shows get booked in the space.
- Liasing with artists to assemble promotional information for the shows.
- Liasing with artists about their technical needs and other logistics for shows.
- Being present at shows to meet with artists, work with the tech team to get shows running smoothly, introduce the performers if applicable, etc.
- helping to organize two largescale, international festivals of electronic music and mixed media; The Bent Festival and The Blip Festival. (www.bentfestival.org | www.blipfestival.org)
Like the curator position itself, the assistant curator position is unpaid. You do gain the experience, pride, and satisfaction of bringing the most interesting and cutting edge music and mixed media to one of the finest venues in Manhattan.
