Digital Arts Technician

Bennington College seeks a Digital Arts Technician, beginning in mid-February 2015, to work closely with faculty, IT staff and students. The Technician is responsible for providing technical assistance in support of the Digital Arts curriculum, supervising, maintaining and scheduling computing facilities, and managing student monitors of the facility.

The position involves troubleshooting student problems, responding to faculty requests, and providing basic instruction in equipment use. Facilities include a lab with 14 Macintosh computers, Epson 7600 and 2400 printers, an adjunct physical computing workspace with a small equipment bank, laser cutter and several 3D printers.

The position requires a working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Adobe Creative Suite is necessary as well as Macintosh hardware/software troubleshooting skills. Experience with microcontrollers (Arduino), programming languages, laser cutting or any 3D program is a plus. A Bachelor's degree and expert interpersonal skills are also required.

This is a full-time position during the academic terms (9 months per year), with benefits. The review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
