Artist's Assistant / Project Manager

A Los Angeles-based contemporary artist is seeking a highly qualified, full-time Artist's Assistant / Project Manager. Starting salary of $40K/year, with possibility of commission dependent on sales and possible benefits. Need someone to start ASAP - by January 1st would be optimal.

IMPORTANT:
In-depth and current working knowledge of the Los Angeles and international art world is REQUIRED. If you are not familiar with the major players and significant galleries, please DO NOT APPLY.

SEEKING:
Someone who is immersed in the contemporary art world but who is not an artist. The position would be a good fit for a previous gallery director with a Type A personality.

Your working time will be apportioned between a midtown office setting and with the artist on the west side. Occasional travel may be required.


REQUIRED QUALITIES/CHARACTERISTICS:
• Extremely detail-oriented, structured, flexible, and efficient, with a strong proficiency in communication over a variety of formats.
• Highly tech savvy (computer skills and social media familiarity must be exceptional)
• Confidently able to liaise with gallerists, curators, collectors, vendors, and others.


DESIRED QUALITIES (not required):
Knowledge of additional languages beyond English. (German, Japanese or French a plus).
