Gallery B

Acclaimed Bay Area male vocal ensemble Clerestory makes its Berkeley Art Museum debut with a Mother’s Day concert featuring music inspired by Arab, Persian, and American sounds, texts, and religious traditions. The a cappella group will perform songs by Samuel Barber, Minnesota ethnomusicologist Jan Gilbert, and noted California composers Paul Crabtree, Sanford Dole, and Eric Whitacre.

Described by the San Francisco Classical Voice as “eight distinctive voices blending in a gorgeous sound,” Clerestory was founded in 2006 by veterans of the Grammy-winning group Chanticleer. For more information on Clerestory, visit www.clerestory.org.
