I'll see you out there!

Call for submission: sound art, performance, poetry, moving image, interactive work.

Technology has provided people with more ways to communicate. We write more than talk, we surf internet more than see things in person. These different approaches of communication affect our ability to interact, generating cybernetic relations, and sometimes we don’t feel as personally connected with people as we would, if we were meeting them face-to-face. So while we are communicating more, we are not necessarily building relationships. If body language would be replaced with “emoticons”, what today would emotions be like?

It prompts questions such as: what influence this new language has on the artistic process, and what is the result of this change?

We are inviting artists working with sound, poetry, moving image, performance and any other kind of interactive practices to apply for a three-night programme, which will take place in three different open venues around London. We will explore the pleasure hidden behind the fact that everything operates through dynamic exchange, and that relations are based on giving and receiving.

I’ll see you out there is an invitation to get out and talk about your work, with an aim to investigate the effects of technology on the creative process, as well as engage in a discussion and creative collaboration - you could tell stories or just show and share. The project is focused on creating a space for exchange of knowledge through presentations and discussions of art works, so that every meeting or experience match those who participate in a real evolution and development of their potential.

I’ll see you out there will be hosted on a roof terrace on Thursday 27th August, followed by a show that will take place in a garden on Saturday 29th August, and concluding on 3rd September with the final event on a boat. Artists will be presenting works that involve the public actively, through an emphasis on interactive process and participation with the work displayed.

Deadline Monday 17th August 12pm.

Selected applicants will be contacted on Wednesday 19th August and informed about the day and the location where they will be performing.
