Due Date: Sunday, April 25th, 1 PM
Due Date By Mail: Friday, April 23

Hi,

Please submit an illustration for the first Flaming Fire Illustrated Bible Gallery show next month! The Flaming Fire Illustrated Bible is an ongoing project to create the largest illustrated Bible in the world, with a picture for each of the 36,665 verses in the bible. Utilizing a database created by Adam Mayer, anyone can upload their art at: http://www.flamingfire.com/bible.html. We have illustrations so far from painters, cartoonists, digital artists, senior citizens, prisoners, small children and all manner of folk from all over the country, including: Jim Pinkoski, Tony Millionaire, Lauren Weinstein, Dame Darcy, Bob Sikoryak, Eric Reynolds, John Mathias, Richard O'Connor, Brian Dewan, Cynthia Mitchell, Ken Habarta, Danny Hellman, Esao Andrews, Theo Edmands, Camilla Ha, Patrick Smith, Andrea Stevenson, Muwen Pan and lots, lots more.

It'll all happen at CB's Gallery next month on Wednesday, April 28 at 6 pm, and will be on display for a month. To be included, you need to bring it to the gallery on Sunday, April 25, from between 1 - 6 pm or mail me your art (with some way to attach it to the wall and return postage) by Friday April 23. Let me know what you want to sell it for – the gallery takes 35%; you get 65% of sale. If you don't want to sell it, that's fine too.

You can illustrate any verse of the Bible in any medium, as long as it hasn't been illustrated yet on our site and can be represented in a photo or illustration. To check, go to: http://www.flamingfire.com/bible.html . Let me know what verse you'd like to do, and I'll reserve it for you. I'll also need a digital version (.jpg, .gif or whatever) of your illustration. If you're incapable of scanning your illustration, let me know and I'll help you out.

If you can't bring your art in person to the gallery, mail your art (so I receive it by Friday, April 23) to:
The Flaming Fire Illustrated Bible Project
PMB 112
302 Bedford Ave.
Brooklyn, NY 11211
tel.: 212-696-7278

This will be the first solo gallery show for the project. There will be a live performance of 4 Chapters of the Bible, presented with a slide show (an idea I "borrowed" from Sikoryak's amazing Carousel shows) and original music from innovative artists. The current artist/musician combinations are:
* Esao Andrew's Story of the Flying Goat (Daniel 8) - Music by Jack Martin of the Dimestore Dance Band Ensemble
* Brian Dewan's Mystery Chapter - Music by Dewan
* Farel Dalrymple's Book of Jude (a work in progress) - Music by Pothole Skinny
* Cynthia Mitchell's Sacrifice of Jephthah's Daughter (Judges 11) - Music by Patrick Hambrecht

The gallery wants you to know that they're not responsible for art being damaged or stolen, although they say this doesn't really happen, but they need you to know for legal reasons.

Please pass this message along, and do a piece for the show – paintings, illustrations, dioramas, cartoons, sculptures, all are welcome!

Thanks,
Patrick
