Opening (Howe/Seaman): the Architecture of Association (Paris)

Opening on Dec. 18th, Daniel C. Howe ( http://mrl.nyu.edu/~dhowe/ ) and Bill Seaman (http://www.billseaman.com/) exhibit the Architecture of Association in 'Dans la Nuit, des Images' at the Grand Palais in Paris.

A large-scale generative installation modelling human associative processes in diverse media, the Architecture of Association (AoA) algorithmically generates and combines fragments of video, text, and sound in real-time via a cluster of networked computers and databases. While a smaller version of the AoA premiered in August at the Museum of Image and Sound in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the installation at the Grand Palais will be the first full-size installation, spanning over 150 sq feet of high-definition monitors.

On the French Culture and Communication Ministry´s initiative, and during the European Season and the French European presidency, 'Dans la Nuit, des Images', guided by Le Fresnoy - Studio National des Arts Contemporains, will be a celebration dedicated to visual arts…
