Signal Culture is a new experimental media art residency located in Owego, New York. We are now accepting applications for our artist in residence program for the September 2014 - February 2015 season. We have built an experimental media studio with real-time analog and digital image and sound processing equipment, custom made hardware and software, a variety of interactive interfaces, and alternative imaging devices that can be configured in a modular studio setup. For more information, download our application at:

Our vision is to create an environment where innovative artists, toolmakers, curators, critics, and art historians who are contributing to the field of media art will have time and space to make new work and to interact with one another. We believe in the importance of fostering a community of people working with experimental media art and will host multiple residents concurrently to set a stage for conversation, networking, and possible collaboration. Applications for the researcher and developer residencies will be announced later this year.

Signal Culture is located 3.5 hours northwest of New York City. There is no fee for the residency, but you are responsible for your own transportation and for all your expenses.
