The Digital Media Program at Georgia Tech, with its home in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication, is accepting applications for its PhD and MS programs. The unit is the first humanities-based academic program in digital media in the country and offers one of the first PhDs in digital media worldwide. The program covers three core areas:

* Knowledge and Creativity
Digital media technologies in creative practices, learning, and the production of knowledge.

* Civic and Public Media
Interaction design and digital media in the construction and support of civic life.

* Arts and Entertainment
Digital media technologies in the enhancement, expansion, and reconfiguration of arts and entertainment.

We offer a studio-intensive curriculum that integrates theory and practice and is taught by a uniquely strong group of theorist-practitioner faculty members. In addition, students in the program regularly take courses with faculty in related fields including Computing, Human Computer Interaction, Music Technology, and Architecture. We also offer a joint M.S. degree in HCI.

Faculty in the program include leading researchers in all three of our core areas. Their work is supported by numerous federal and corporate grants. We encourage every applicant to explore the research of our faculty. Profiles and research interests are available at http://dm.gatech.edu/people/faculty-and-staff/
