Here are descriptions for the 2 courses:

Intro to Programming for the Media Arts, Thursdays 6-8pm, 5 weeks starting November 7th: Did you ever wonder how your favorite app and game designers got their start? Do have design chops but are afraid to try programming because math is "not your thing?" Are you a CS whiz bored with bubble sorting? If you answered yes to any of these questions, or just want to learn basic programming skills in a visual art context, this class is for you! We will use the free, open-source programming language and development environment Processing (www.processing.org) to cover basic Object Oriented Programming techniques common to most modern programming languages. We will cover basic drawing/ animation as well as more complex topics such as physics simulation, automated behaviors, interactivity, and game mechanics. Join us and start prototyping that million dollar app concept right now!

Intro to Photoshop, Wednesdays 6-8pm, 5 weeks starting November 6th: Not only is Photoshop the best software for making internet memes, it is also a powerful tool used by artists and designers. This class will focus on the techniques these creative practitioners use to realize their visions: image extraction and erasure, digital collage, retouching, animated gif creation, and more. This class is welcome for all skill levels–we will cover basic theory and how to navigate the application interface, as well as more advanced techniques. Join us and go from making your Facebook friends chuckle at your latest meme to creating digital masterpieces like a professional.
