NEW ARTIST RESIDENCY IN THE PHILIPPINES!

OPEN CALL! We are now accepting applications for 15 days / 1 month residencies [May- Oct 2013]. Deadline is: 15th of March 2013

The Unifiedfield’s Artist-In-Residence (AIR) programme in The Philippines offers to artists a very special experience to create work in Punta- Lanuza, a small, peaceful municipality in Surigao del Sur (Mindanao) known for its surfing spots. The residency space is a beautiful hut which lies in a cove and stands alone with a fish pond in a land grown with coconuts and fruit-bearing trees. A short walk from it takes you to a rocky beach and a view of the Pacific. Ahead, the waves coil in the sea, large in November until March. The rest of the year, they remain inviting to local and foreign surfers who come occasionally. With a walk, a bike ride, or a bus ride, you arrive at unspoiled places, sandy beaches, and rivers—indeed, a natural paradise.

Access to The Unifiedfield’s artist residency programme is open to all artists, musicians, writers and film-makers without restriction, but priority will be given to artists working in site-specific projects on the experimental and interdisciplinary fringes.

The Unifiedfield will select the most interesting proposals, in terms of quality and artistic interest, from the total number of applications. For artists who apply, this is a production-based residency where The Unifiedfield will assist the participants in the development of a new project or the continuation of an existing one.

The Unifiedfield ‘s Artist Residency in Punta INCLUDES:

• Basic accommodation in a traditional wooden hut with kitchen attached.
• Working space with internet connection at The Unifiedfield headquarters.
• All meals included (vegetarian)
• Organic garden, in progress
• Bicycle
• Contact to the local community, interpreter and guide.
• Communication and publicity

Eventually if circumstances allow, under the discretion of The Unifiedfield, we can organize several other presentations for further diffusion of the artists’ projects. Genuinely attentive to the artists’ needs, The Unifiedfield remains flexible and if the occasion arises where a larger space is required for a certain event, The Unifiedfield can collaborate locally and internationally with other art spaces and institutions.

RESIDENCY FEES:

The Unifiedfield is an independent non-profit artist-run organization. To cover the residency expenses we charge the invited artist a residency fee of 375 USD for our 15 days residency programme, or 690 USD for 1 month.

The Unifiedfield can assist the artists with letters of invitation to enable to raise additional funds to cover, if needed, the residency fees as well as the artist’s production costs and travel expenses, etc.
