Open Call for Art Submissions

Marymount College’s Arcade Gallery is organizing a group exhibition for outstanding emerging artists who work in different media formats, including film, video, photography, installation, web, and interdisciplinary. The exhibition will be on view from November 1st to December 7th, 2012.

The theme of the exhibition is Renewed Memories - Media Art Created With Personal Retrospective. We are looking for artworks that probe the boundary between individual perception and public memory, and demonstrate an explorative journey from one’s physical experience to abstract representations, offering imaginable space for others.

To submit your artwork (up to 2 pieces per person), please email the following materials to Xiaowen Zhu, [email protected] by October 15th, 2012.

- Installation: stills of the work and a description of how it works in the space
- Artist Statement: less than 250 words
- Artist bio/CV

About the gallery:
The Arcade Gallery, located in historic downtown San Pedro, the Port of Los Angeles, is a fixed exhibition venue of Marymount College. It offers students fully equipped facilities to exhibit their work in a variety of media. Dedicated to the connection between art and education, the gallery also presents work from celebrated and emerging artists, curated by either faculty or students of the Division of Arts & Media at Marymount College.
