'lapsusmemoriae' is structured like a memory card game. The cards'
iconography is based on the code names for recent military
operations. The
project prods at our ablility to forget. On finding matching icons
you are
given more information including NATO quotes and the epic titles like
'operation enduring freedom' which almost seem to parody themselves.

On entering 'East of Eden' a plant is generated in the garden which
is
native to the area where you have logged on from. The project looks
at
historic links beween colonialism and botany. This is a recent
INIVA/xspace
commission.

The collective pleix have used a glossy advertising aesthetic to make
critical net movies on consumerism and beauty mythology. Other
projects are
more graphically oriented with experimental mixing of
sound/graphics/video.

Latanzi has written an algorithm she calls 'AMG Strain software' to
structure her interactive net films. The black and white bitmapped
animations break down with interaction using repetition, zoom,
toggling and
montage to disrupt, deconstruct and layer the filmic fragments.

Jeremijenko has rewired a robotic toy dog so that it can detect
radio active
material. The site gives DIY advice on how to adapt your own robotic
dog for
more useful purposes. This project is one of three conceptual
prototypes
developed for a proboscis/LSE research collaboration, also on the
site are:
Rachel Bakers' train journey narratives targetted throught GPS/SMS to
passengers; and Ben Hooker/Shona Kitchens's brutalist/futurist
vision of
data collection, urban sensors and interfaces.

Dude that's what a butterfly sticks out into the flower to get the juice.

Checkmate.
