Art as Public Service
How does art find its ways into the public? Pop art reflects the vernacular as a familiar or point of entry to the masses, that being the viewing audience; but what about the integration of the artist into the public as the servant? Your own public services and how does that idea work within the art making practice? Who is qualified (in our society) to offer a public service? How does one qualify a public service? This is a call for all forms of art that examines the possibility of artist as servant/public/ service. As example (only one example) see video of this idea:
