in this case, it was in support of an artwork which nobody liked.
i did like the explanation for it ("perpetual rape") but wonder how
sincere it was. and it violated the "fwords" rule. these allergic
rules are no use - which is why he said "I'm here .."

usenet still maintains netiquette and that includes disapproval of
`offtopic' posts. in the net-art-mailing-list matrix, because of its
experimental types, there have been sorts of battles fought with the
result that `offtopic' posts are no longer remarkable. one exception
is nettime, which is now ruled by a cabal of special-moderators rather
than a single one. do the `unfiltered' nettime- and rhizome- filter into ?

the insertion of political material into discussion is sometimes part
of political art, as in antiorp's anti-NATO period, but most often a
hypertextual justification for bizarre behavior, as nn's anti-fascist
period. it's probably correct that "right-wing" material would be flamed,
but that itself would be very illuminating. we forget what offtopic means.

that isnt what he said at all, and it's quite rare for someone to say that.

This list/piece/essay is about what I want to say and how I want
to say it. It is also .. about contemporary culture and technology
.. I guess I`m overwhelmed .. There was a snowboard ad .. that
went something like this: "Don`t question authority, ignore it."
To further that I like: "Don`t question authority, be it." [Which
I thought] Mr. Virtual Reality, Jaron Lanier, was saying about Big
Brother types possibly wanting to control V.R. input like tapping
a phone line. He advocated becoming smarter or a better hacker
than those who try to "control" things. Sorry Jaron if that's not
quite what you were getting at but it is what I mean and well,
meaning is obscure isn`t it?

I could say "that`s it" but no. Shall we continue?

> (a+b=a) nanananana boo boo we are going to talk politics all the time !!!!!!

I`ve very recently come to realize that I`m writing about the
future, and the very near past. I`m not used .. to looking at
creativity in such a way .. I am writing about nothing which is
now becoming something. This is just how technologies and cultural
movements are continually emerging, evolving, and being defined.
I can write about what is now happening in my world, as far as I
know, and what I am doing within it, as a part of it so to speak
.. the more one knows the more one can partake .. My degree of
involvement is restricted or modulated by my ability to, so to
speak, speak the language .. [or] my language. We are always
partaking in our society to one degree or another ..

Um, yes you are smart, but smarter than me, I find that difficult to believe.

What about Bayesian statistics? You know how a+b=a relates to that?

I'm basing part of my magnitudinal argument on the idea that the sum of all
sub-event probabilities is greater than zero, and I do not think my esteemed
colleague can enter mathematical evidence in court unless we get to enter to
record a dissent brief of how Bayesian statistics affect marketing in urban
areas.

The other guy is not making me angry at all! I'm not angry at you nkras.
Natalie Myers however has a right to be angry that I spoke unfairly of her
work. The courtroom/lawyer thing was going through my head because of the
heat, the pressure if you will, of today's architecture scene.

I want to be fair: I dispute that "accelerating forward, in any direction",
can be, without a counterballast, a road to the beauty we light with art's
flint.

It's the major historical question for me. Porthole Accelerator looks airy
and freeing. I can see it being a beautiful piece of architecture. My
concerns lie in the deepest chasms of my critique of history, something to
which Ms. Myers has no obligation to justify the Porthole Accelerator.

My periteia lies in the suspicion that my demand of accelerating sideways may
be best interpolated to new ways of being in space by exactly such works as
Myers' PA.

Does anyone else have any ideas re PA and the idea of forward acceleration,
Virilio, all that? My gripe is that I think Adorno would call this
acceleration subjectivity gone wild, the I regressing into myth. Is it true
that Virilio is the more sexual, and Horkheimer the more asexual, of the two
major schools of speed-theory?

I didn't say that you shouldn't talk in a certain way. I am asserting that this is a mailing list concerning the Arts.

dear NKRAS ……

it is a snowing day in may and well we seem to have misplaced you in the simulation it is time for you to come back in and be debugged in order to understand your simulation you see art is vast and relates to everything even nothing rhizome mainley, a plateau, and somthing as simple as William S Burrough dropping a book on the ground and well creating Naked Lunch. i can not stand Max Herman do not get me wrong but you seem to be making him angery you see Mr.Herman has no air-conditioning and he is on limited funds the heat is causing his obsessive need to create the genius 2002 work that fails at every introduction this here is just crazy talk and why is everyone so …………the empires new clothes by DEMI that is a good picture book i like it
