The Engine Room (CARDEW 2011)
Call for Video and Sound Works

**DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 31/08/11**
Cornelius Cardew was a tutor at Morley College in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and left a lasting impact on the College as well as the wider British contemporary music scene, perhaps most notably through the Scratch Orchestra, which grew out of his Experimental Music Performance classes.
Morley College is commemorating Cardew with a series of courses, events and exhibitions. As part of this series of events we are looking for works to be exhibited at Morley College Gallery during November and December 2011.
The call is for works in visual/digital arts and sound arts, including but not limited to sound installations, sound sculptures and video works. The works should be inspired and/or influenced by aspects of Cornelius Cardew's music, life and/or ideologies.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 24 November to 17 December 2011. The Engine Room (Cardew 2011) Conference will take place between 9–11 December 2011, for which a separate Call for Papers has been issued. There will be several events during this conference at which sound artists may be given the opportunity to speak about their work.
THE DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF WORKS HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO WEDNESDAY 31st AUGUST 2011. Works received after this date will not be considered. The selection will be announced by September 15th, 2011. If you have not heard from us by that date, your submission has not been successful.
Works may be submitted via web upload (email attachment, drop box, yousendit.com, etc) or posting a hard copy to the address below. Enquiries concerning the call should be directed to:
