Ucello is a digital potter's wheel experimenting with an intuitive interface for building objects in 3D space. Dragging the contour into a particular shape will generate a solid of revolution which can be manipulated in space and skinned with a selection of patterns. This web version is distilled from a larger kiosk installation in which users can draw their own motifs and apply them to the object. The code is written in Lingo using a 3D algorithm I've developed for a variety of applications. The program draws its name from Paolo Ucello, an Italian Renaissance artist who built his own non-digital systems for representing 3D objects on a flat plane.
