JoLT Fellows Will Rethink Media and Journalism Leadership through Game Design

Can you predict the next media-disrupting technology? Do you want to figure out what media leadership in the 21st century means? Do you want to change the way people engage with media and journalism? Can you blend engagement design, systems thinking and change management to create the media future?

American University invites applications for three unprecedented JoLT (Journalism Leadership Transformation) fellowships in games and disruptive media. Fellows will participate in several leadership initiatives partnering American University, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and multiple nationally recognized industry leaders. The fellowship program supports a cohort of pioneers who are skilled in engagement design, systems thinking and transformative leadership, ideally with an interest or background in, media and/or journalism.

The three funded Fellows simultaneously will earn a Master’s of Art in Game Design while working to reorganize the way media are communicated, analyzed and produced from a leadership perspective. This includes participating in two D.C.- based summits, the American University Game Lab and a host of forward-thinking iterations on leading change in media engagement.
