Amelia (Lia) Morgan Camion is an NYC artist and independent curator, with training as an art therapist.
Originally from the Southwest, Camion's move to New York in 2005 was the beginning of the rest of her life. She has been involved in the production of Performa05's Dead Jack Theater and The HomeBase Project, and exhibited at Broadway Gallery, Makor Gallery, the Westside Gallery, the National Laboratory for New Jewish Culture, and alternative spaces. She received her Master of Art Therapy in 2011 from School of Visual Arts and currently works as an art and recreation therapist at Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center. Camion's personal body of work focuses on the body as the ground for mapping out experiences, emotions, and memories. More recently, with the founding of NYArtShows.org with artist and collaborator Bernadette Torres, Camion has started to produce and curate exhibitions that bridge the therapeutic and fine arts.
Examples of her work can be seen at www.ameliammorgan.com.
