Jodi Rose is a nomadic artist, writer, cultural producer and creative director of Singing Bridges, an urban sonic sculpture using the cables of bridges as musical instruments on a global scale. Welcome to Bridgeland! is an art-research project in the fields of cultural acoustics, media arts /theory, site-specific intervention, oral history, alternative ethnography and experimental sociology with a documentary-fictional and practical-theoretical approach. The interdisciplinary nature of the process is highlighted through the production and performance of artworks, lectures, theoretical texts and archive-documentary materials. Welcome to Bridgeland! highlights the bridge as a place of transformative potential, the locus for metaphorical meanings and mythological experiences. A global “Mythology of Bridges” is created in performative happenings, subtle interventions, video/audio composition and poetic cultural essays.

Rose is co-initiator, co-editor and mediator of TRACES, Transcultural Research Exchange Series (2010-11), Editor-in-Chief for associated publication and is editor and founder of +ART inside the kaleidoscope, curating platform to facilitate cultural transmissions. She produced Particle/Wave Hybrid Radio Symposium at Pixelache, Helsinki in 2005 and is developing a smartphone app for creating bridge music, commissioned by BLOC UK 2013. Rose is head of editorial for r0g, agency for open culture and critical transformation with Stephen Kovats 2012-13 and is currently artist in residence at Arles-sur-Tech, France.
Jodi Rose trained in Sculpture, Performance and Installation at Sydney College of the Arts, which led to her founding the Cult of the Mad Genius Artstar, (COMGAS). The work of COMGAS is diverse and eclectic, connected by a desire to explore the gaps and spaces in the fabric of cultural production. COMGAS works range from the infamous \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Anti-Art Certificate\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\", to Otira\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Tele-Seismic Emergency Phone\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\", the \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Mythopoeia\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" series in Alice Springs and Bega, \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Architectonics of Delirium\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\", and her current global bridge project \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Singing Bridges.\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"
