Rhizome is thrilled to invite you to our 2022 Benefit After Party with music curated by Club Cringe. Hosted at the Bowery Terrace, a stunning indoor-outdoor venue in lower Manhattan, Rhizome 2022 Benefit After Party is a chance to come together and celebrate Rhizome, which has been a center for community and access to digital culture for more than 25 years. Your generous donation of $30 or more supports our mission to champion the presentation, interpretation, and preservation of digital art and culture.
Open bar includes drinks by Community Spirit Vodka, Lunar Hard Seltzer, and wine by maivino. This event is produced in partnership with NFT protocol, Zora.
The 2022 Benefit After Party will begin with a 20-minute performance by the artist-run company Whistlegraph, who will sing and draw on a chalkboard to demonstrate The Longest Whistlegraph Ever (so far), a new composition, commissioned by Rhizome, which recently premiered at the New Museum. The performance will be followed by DJ sets and music by Quest?onmarq, Chicken, DJ Trick, and Utkina.
Quest?onmarq is a cornerstone of the NYC underground and ballroom scene both as a Producer and a DJ.
Chicken is a pop music powerhouse who makes up half of the band Club Eat, as well as a constant collaborator with rising stars like Isabella Lovestory and Miss Madeline.
Club Cringe’s own DJ Trick is eclectic in the booth, drawing from a wide range of musical genres and sounds to form a unique signature style that’s uniquely informed by the label’s internet origins.
Utkina is a newcomer behind the decks who works closely with the underground party and label New World Dysorder.
Club Cringe occupies a unique space in the New York zeitgeist both IRL and URL. A distinctly postmodern music-making collective and community of characters, it serves as a home for some of the city’s most avant-garde and maximalist music and garners fans that fall through the cracks of other scenes.
