Art-Koltsovo "ILLUMINATORS": Open Call

During the Renaissance, tondos were a popular style of circular paintings and reliefs. Drawing an association between the round shape of the tondo and that of the port hole, or "illuminator" in Russian, the new public art exhibition Illuminators invites artists to present their creative worldview in the form of circular digital prints and video. Selections will be made by an international award panel, and the works will be displayed throughout the recently renovated Koltsovo Airport in Yekaterinburg, Russia. Illuminators is underwritten by public art initiative Art Koltsovo. The deadline for submissions is March 11, 2008.
