This name change reflects our expanded editorial focus, one that has come to cover the diverse range of new media practices, both on and offline, traversed by the Rhizome community and the new media art field at large. With this publication and in all we do, Rhizome seeks to support the ever multiplying intersections of contemporary art and new technologies. After a lively discussion on our listserv, Rhizome's staff decided on the title Rhizome News as we feel it best expresses the way our editorial direction channels this mission.
