COSMIC RAYS DIGITAL is now accepting submissions for Virtual Reality (VR) Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR) artworks; digitally generated projections; sound art; and immersive art for our upcoming exhibition and film festival.

COSMIC RAYS DIGITAL will select a broad range of digital and immersive works for exhibition in a physical gallery, online, and in mixed reality (headset, mobile, pc).There are no thematic or formal limitations to the work we will accept.
We are looking for artwork that can be exhibited on VR headsets or mobile AR as standalone works, or that may exist in a digitally or physically built installation world. We are also interested in 3d models and animations that can be placed in Mozilla Hubs as part of a larger group installation. We are also open to digital installations on other immersive platforms.

COSMIC RAYS DIGITAL is a new programming initiative of the Cosmic Rays Film Festival. For the month leading up to the festival, we will install a curated exhibition of extended reality (XR) and immersive media projects in a live space in downtown Chapel Hill, North Carolina as well as in an online virtual collaborative art space (e.g., Mozilla Hubs, New Art City, Altspace VR). Like the Cosmic Rays Film Festival, Cosmic Rays Digital aims to support artists who are excited by the formal and conceptual possibilities of emerging digital media technologies.
