Shandaken: Governors Island

Shandaken: Governors Island is a new residency by Shandaken Projects and the Trust for Governors Island. In the course of this program, five residents at a time will receive free studio space on Governors Island for one year each, and will develop public programming to present to the island’s hundreds of thousands of visitors in summer 2019. This collaboration invites residents to pursue individual goals in the studio while also responding to the island and its myriad conditions. Shandaken: Governors Island is open to cultural practitioners working in any discipline—including the visual arts, writing, dance, and more—and currently living in New York City to apply now through July 30, 2018.
