"YouTube has hundreds of hours of video uploaded every minute and relies on it’s proprietary “black box” algorithm to serve up content in a way that is financially rewarding and keeps viewers engaged and coming back for more. Uploading a video these days feels like you’re tossing it into a vast sea of content, hoping it washes up on someone’s shore. https://youtu.be/L9zBG6i6rFQ We created this project because we missed being able to easily discover the weird but amazing videos of YouTube - unfiltered from the algorithm that now prioritizes videos from paid placements and major publishers, and sometimes a few of the most popular creators.
