Thoughts on Gallery Website: Dooley Le Cappellaine Gallery

I have had time to go view your website. Your Shockwave Pages are more
interesting than the normal shockwave pages on offer. However, I do find
that the reality of quicktime shockwave capabilities are far from the
panacea of interactivity that they could offer (via Director Lingo).
Some of the movies have very noticible clicks in their looping. Is this
deliberate or is this a problem with Afterburner Compression or in
Director itself. It would be interesting to know.

The Graphical buttons are laid out well - they also look nice too,
against the light blue backround. Page loading times are quick and fast
(even for the Shockwave Pages - nice one). There is plenty of bold
interesting statements about the artists and the CD ROM that - to me
anyway - should generate a lot of interested enquiring minds (enquiring
minds want to know).

On the Artist Profile text side of things I wonder if it might be better
to left align the text, rather than center it (obviously this would mean
centering the accommpanying images as well).

Well tat is all I can really think of to say. Your CD ROM does sound
very interesting (especially Troy's Piece).

I agree but it was all hand programed by me and in Lingo, I think the sound problems were fairly trivial but of course we aim for perfection, at the time I was a New York Gallery director and taught myself programming. The first Dvd came out in 1994. So it's off to the Museum for that one. However it was a very interesting time with "The Thing" and "Rhizome"
I still like the idea of Digital art and exhibitions on line, or better DVD.
This idea has since been taken up by Wholphin, but it's basically film clips these days. I would really like to see an art itunes and that was my idea …I think even before iTunes.
Interactivity in art seems to have gone out the window but we shall see.
