VISION, EXTENDED STRINGS AND DIFFUSION

An evening of audio-visual experience: MASH in collaboration with Gary Smith (UK/Italy) and Peter Lundén (Sweden)

MASH has been experimenting with audio-visual in various forms since 1991. On 12 October, MASH will collaborate with Gary Smith and Peter Lundén for the first time at Fylkingen, Stockholm. The performance will consist of Electric Guitar sounds, Electronics, Live Video using Nintendo Wii Remote Controller and Kinect Sensor, and Sound Diffusion.

Gary Smith (Guitar, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Smith_(guitarist) ) is an experimental guitarist from UK who is known for his special extended techniques on guitar. In addition to his numerous CDs, he has collaborated with Shoji Hano, Rhys Chatham, John Stevens, etc. in live settings.

Peter Lundén (Sound Diffusion, http://www.mic.stim.se/avd/mic/prod/micv6.nsf/docsbycodename/soekresultat?opendocument&fraga=Peter+LUND%C3%89N) is an EAM composer and researcher of 3D sounds. He has been active at the Interactive Institute in Stockholm and his sound landscape "Sonic Doors" was presented at Expo 2000 in Hanover.

MASH (http://www.i-mash.net/) consists of Magnus Alexanderson (EAM composer & experimental guitarist) and Sachiko Hayashi (visual artist).
