Assistant Professor of Photograhpy (digital)

The Art Department at the University of Virginia seeks to hire an
innovative artist whose primary interest is color photography using
digital technologies. Additional experience in other aspects of
photography such as wet darkroom and alternative processes, as well
as knowledge of a variety of camera formats, is required. UVA offers
a 30-credit BA in Studio Art within the context of a liberal arts
institution. Photography is part of a larger selection of
concentrations including painting, printmaking, sculpture, new media,
and filmmaking where students often cross over between disciplines.
Teaching responsibilities include two courses in photography each
semester; administrative duties include coordinating the digital
photography lab. Applicants must have an MFA and a strong exhibition
record. Teaching experience beyond graduate school required. Apply

of recent work and separate title sheet with image information, names
and contact information of three references and SASE by January 7,
2008. Format for submitting work: send up to 20 good quality jpegs of
recent work in addition to a Mac compatible Powerpoint presentation
(.ppt) of the same images in the order they are listed on the title
