This year the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe is to award the international AppArtAward for the third time. The prizes are oriented on current technological developments and reflect innovative work produced by developers active in the field of information technology.
With a view to the future, and in terms of emerging technological demands, the request for proposals is directed at creators: artists, designers and developers across the world are invited to submit their developments from March 11 to May 12, 2013.
The following prices to be awarded this year (each to the sum of € 10.000):
Prize for Artistic Innovation
Special Prize for Crowd Art
Special Prize for Augmented Reality Art
Awarded will be works of art in App-format for Smartphones and tablets, which represent creative software solutions in the designated fields. Apps may be submitted from March 11 on; the deadline is May 12, 2013.

The Award Ceremony of the AppArtAward will take place on Friday, July 12, 2013, at the ZKM | Karlsruhe.
AppArtAward – Highlights are presently on tour as an exhibition. Currently they are on show in Peking, followed by Seoul, Montréal and Sao Paulo.
