Desk / studio space conveniently located in Chelsea / Garment District - it's very rare to find a space like this in the middle of Manhattan. Walking distance to to Chelsea art gallery nexus, art supply stores, Home Depot, Whole Foods, Stumptown Coffee, etc. (Also, if you need it, and I hope you do, there's a fencing epée store called Blade nearby.) One big open room is split into sections, you get your own private space, plus full access to an adjoining wood and metalworking shop. There are no walls between the spaces to keep things open and light. The shop is separated by a wall and glass door to keep dust out of the main space. There are large windows in the space and the light is excellent in the mornings. The other people here do some combination of interactive art, robotics, photography and architecture. The space is also suitable for painters, small-scale sculptors, graphic designers, jewelry design, physical computing, etc. There is a work sink and bathroom in the hallway.

In commercial real estate terms, a quadrant is 280sf, but in real life it's 140sf of private space PLUS use of large 160sf workshop. A desk space is 60sf plus use of the shop. Utilities includes internet, electricity, heat, trash, doorman, and insurance.

Option 1: $350/mo + $50/mo utilities = $400/mo for a desk space + full shop access

Option 2: $675/mo + $50/mo utilities = $725/mo for an entire quadrant (12'x12') + full shop access

A share might be possible if you share with a friend.
