The Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts Area of Integrated New Media Studies at Indiana University South Bend invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position in New Media beginning August 1, 2012.  We seek an artist/communicator with significant creative and technical abilities to teach in a newly founded, rapidly growing interdisciplinary BFA program.  A terminal degree in new media, intermedia, digital art, or other field combining art, communication, and computer technology, is required.  Topics of particular interest to our program include graphic design and typography, video/animation/motion media, web and interface design, installation, and programming/scripting.  Applicants must demonstrate the ability to teach in conceptual and historical frameworks of contemporary new media art and communication. The successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity for teaching, service, and research/publication or creative activity/exhibition appropriate to the successful pursuit of tenure. Teaching load per semester is normally 3 three credit hour courses. Salary is competitive; total compensation includes an excellent fringe benefits package.
