Description

In Virtual Timeline, the artist uses HTML tables to map the current cultural condition into four basic phases: Entreprenurial Capitalism, Monopoly Capitalism, Multinational Capitalism, and Virtual Capitalism. The table cells under each phase are populated with corresponding ideas and links.

No ordinary timeline, Dominguez maps modern culture into four basic phases. Use the timeline as a launch pad for surfing the web.

VRTimeline was an attempt to teach my self tables and javascript in 1996. It
was also an
attempt to push a post-(e)-pedagogy that would map our current condition in
view of the past and some possible futures. The first version of this map was
presented as a very large wall drawing (1993) under which i would stand, point,
and
discuss with whomever drifted by and asked a question about it. Looking at
now--
i would have to say that it has remained the basic thread for all of the work
that
followed.
