The ongoing Memorial for the Victims of Terror,
initiated immediately after the terror attack of 9/11/2001
(Memorial project against the Forgetting and for Humanity)
is calling for new artists' submissions for immediate inclusion,
i.e URLs or
images (.jpg, gif), movies (.swf, .dcr - not larger than 1Mb)
or texts (email or .txt).

The September edition of
is entirely dedicated to the victims of terror
(all victims of any terror).

"A Virtual Memorial forms the basis of the Onlne Festival which will be
organized in cooperation between NewMediaArtProjectNetwork and Violens
Festival in Tabor (Czech Republic)
More than 150 included artists and their digital works form the
collaborative work of the Online Festival.
It will go online in the 2nd week of August 2002.
The exact date will be announced in time.

3. A Virtual Memorial will be featured in the exhibition "Terror" organized
at DRCCC in Australia in September 2002, Violence Online festival will be
included as well.

4. Several works originating from "A Virtual Memorial" will participate in
August in File - Electronic Language festival Sao Paulo (Brazil)

The Month August is dedicated to the late Ignatz Bubis,
President of Central Jewish Council of Germany,
who died on 13 August 1999.

It was him, who encourage me to develop my physical
Memorial multi-media art project
"A living Memorial" and its 43 installations
at 43 places in Poland, Czech Republic and Germany (1995-1998)
by taking Patronage over this project.
As its basis, the virtual Memorial
would have never come alive without this previous encouragement.

"Artists' self-portraits belong to the most fascinating artistic formats
since here the viewer gets a lot of more information about an artist than
through his working in other type of formats.
The view through the mirror at the bottom offers a critical reflection
either connected to an ideal image or its contrary.

1. Tiia Johannson Memorial
As many of you probably know,
Tiia Johannson from Estonia
died on 11 June 2002 in Tallinn/Estonia
only 36 years old.

Meanwhile, JavaMuseum converted the solo show
of the "JavaArtist of 2001"
which was organized in autumn 2001
to the Memorial for Tiia Johannson
in order to keep vivid the memory of the
very talented netartist.

All of you, who knew Tiia personally
or also "only" virtually

**2. Feature: Italian NetArt
Deadline was 31 May 2002.
Since 15 July 2002, this new show is online
including meanwhile 24 artists and their projects.

The "Feature" represents no final result, but an ongoing project.
There is a submission page for new artists who are not yet included.

76 artists submitted 183 works.

The selection procedure will include this year no pre-selections,
but the artists to be participating in the show
will be selected during 5 weeks July/August in
a process by an independant continously changing jury
according the principle "join and leave"
and notified in the first week of September.

The result will go online as the show
"Fundamental Patterns- Peripheral Basics"
in the 1st week of October 2002.
It promises to be an exciting event again.
Simultaneously, the artist(s) receiving the
"JavaArtist(s) of the Year Award" will be notified.

LMD launches Cinematheque

Le musee di-visioniste
is happy to launch a new complex of online departments:
The MediaCentre,
which will consits of the Cinematheque, The Theatre,
The ConferenceCentre and the ConcertHall:

It ist the Cinematheque which opens its doors first, now!

The Cinematheque will feature online streaming video
in changing programs 3-4 times a year of artists who work
in popular streaming video formats as Flash Video, Quicktime Video,
Real Video and others.

The opening program represents also already a highlight:
**LMD MediaCentre Summer Festival 2002**

It includes 33 works of these 8 artists
Doron Golan (USA), Michael Bryntrupp (Germany), Christina McPhee (USA),
Tony Mestrovic (Croatia) Melissa Ulto (USA), Fernando Llanos (Mexico),
Seth Thompson (USA), Agricola de Cologne (Germany).

Each artist represents another kind of personality,
another kind of approach to the streaming medium,
artistically and technologically.
The program displayes a variety of subjects and representations
from video poem to experimental works.

This online exhibition is designed, created and curated by
Agricola de Cologne, director of Le Musee di-visioniste,
which is currently also running the "Featured Artists Series".
