Besides for a broad bandwidth of dynamic curatorial contexts he is initiating in physical & virtual space like JavaMuseum (2001), NewMediaFest (2002), Violence Online Festival (2003), SoundLAB & VideoChannel (2004), CologneOFF (2006), netEX (2007), Agricola de Cologne is standing also for
the co-curator & co-organiser of events like festivals & exhibitions of contemporary art, but also for the jury member of divers festivals.

Since its introduction in 2000, Agricola de Cologne is represented as an artist on more than 500 festivals and media art exhibitions in New York, Chicago, London, Paris, Marseille, Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Oslo, Seoul, Bangkok, New Delhi, Basel, Vienna, Linz (Ars Electronica), Graz, Kiev, Riga, Moskow, St.Petersburg, Tallinn, Tokyo, Rome, Milan, Turin, Karlsruhe (ZKM), Berlin & elsewhere, but also on Biennials like ISEA Nagoya (2002), Venice Biennale 2003, Biennale of New Media Art Merida/MX 2003, Biennale of Electronic Arts Perth/Australia (2004), Biennale de Montreal (2004), Biennale of Video & New Media Santiago de Chile (2005), ISEA Singapur 2008.

It is already a tradition,
the month December on "A Virtual Memorial" is dedicated to the victims of
on occasion of 1st December - WORLD AIDS Day.

This year, A Virtual Memorial would like to feature several "HIV positive"
in an online show, entitled:
"Just Positive!"

Artists of any discipline who are HIV positive are invited to submit
information and images about their artistic work or friends of them: Please
submit information/images of your positive friends!

It is intended to include all serious submissions, some selected artists
will be individually featured.

in the streaming formats
Quicktime, Real Video, Flash, Shockwave, Windows Media
to be presented in the next online show.
Slowly the currently running Summer Festival is coming to an end.

Artists are invited to submit works of any subject and genre. No commercial
works are accepted. The running time may not exceed 10 min.

The works can be submitted either as media file (not larger than 5MB) or URL
(file size not limited).

A selection of the best submitted videos will be included in the show.

announces the launch of the new show
"Fundamental Patterns - Peripheral Basics"
for the beginning of November.
The exact date will be notified in time.

JavaMuseum is proud to announce
the winner of the 2002 competition on JavaMuseum:

the "JavaArtist of the Year Award"
is given this year to one single artist
for the excellence of his art working:

CALIN MAN, media artist from Romania.

"Fundamental Patterns - Peripheral Basics"
is the title of the program series 2002: 2nd of Java Series,
a program of different net based art related events,
and it was the title of the 2002 competition on JavaMuseum.

The Show of
"Fundamental Patterns - Peripheral Basics"
will incorporate following three features:

1. Solo presentation of the "JavaArtist of the Year 2002"

2. Presentation of the finalists of the competition
"Fundamental Patterns - Peripheral Basics"
including the works of 25 artists

3. Presentation of work series, entitled "Mandala",
created by students of the University of the Philippines Manila,
in the framework of "Fundamental Patterns - Peripheral Basics"
but out of the competition concurrence.

In this exciting show, WEST will meet EAST,
and therefore the spiritual element
will play an essential role.

The show will be curated and created by
Agricola de Cologne, director and curator of JavaMuseum.

The winners of the
"JavaArtist of the Year Award"
were in 2001:

the late Tiia Johannson (net artist from Estonia, died on 11 June 2002)
