Press Release - MasterPlan

Press Release

"Le Musee di-visioniste"
www.le-musee-divisioniste.org
is happy to launch
its latest online showcase
within the 'Featured artists' series,
entitled

"MasterPlan"
net-based art works

******************************************
The exhibition is open from
30 January 2003 and will run until May/June 2003,
but will be available online for permanent afterwards
******************************************

"Edition 06 of Featured Artists series, entitled
"MasterPlan" is featuring following artists:

1. Daniel Young, USA
2. Patrick Simons/Kate Southworth, UK
3. jimpunk, France
4. Dan Norton, Scotland
5. Nicolas Clauss, France

********************************************

"MasterPlan"
represents an exhibition reporting about five most individual artists'
personalities each one following a strong individual conception:
a "MasterPlan" determining the course of events.

Daniel Young,
collects in his generative project "NewZoid"
continously daily news,
chops them up and endlessly reassembles the pieces into absurd,
funny, shocking and thought-provoking headlines,
resulting a kind of "infotherapy".

The artists Patrick Simons and Kate Southworth
investigate in their collaborative project
"Glorious Ninth"
the material world and communicate their findings
using many different approaches to 'knowing'.

jimpunk explores in his >www.nowar.nogame.or-project<
controlling and the hypnotic feeling
of being contolled and helpless.

Dan Norton opens in his generative project
"ablab" interactive fields and
lets the users search for the limits
of 2D-interactivity.

Nicolas Claus collects in his "Flying Puppet" project
examples of human entaglements.
The selection of the four
works <The Cry, The Sleepers,
Trauma and Before the night>
shows the artist/user as the "Creator" holding
the human individual (like a puppet on string)
who remains unable to escape from the "MasterPlan".

******************************************
The exhibition "MasterPlan"
is curated and created by Agricola de Cologne.

War!! - Violence Online Festival - call for submissions

Violence Online Festival
Version 5.0
Call for submissions
to the subject <WAR!!>

Deadline 3 March 2003
************************************

Introduction:

Version 4.0 of Violence Online Festival
to be presented on occasion of
"New Media Nation - Festival of Festivals"
20-22 February Bratislava (Slovakia)
is not yet online,
Version 5.0 is already in preparation following provisionally soon
afterwards.

Version 5.0 will include a feature to the subject >War!!<

>>War belongs to the heaviest forms of violence.
Nearly any war is based on an insane idealogy constructed by insane people.

The phantom of a war in IRAK these days becomes more and more concrete and
more and more threatening.
The fear how the consequences for each single individual
could look like is far spreading in all parts of the world.

There is no question what the insane ideology is and who is the insane
constructor this time.
This is particularly good for the US administration and its leader,
but also for the IRAK and its leader.

The dimensions and consequences are unforeseeable as it is a dictated war,
dictated by a lonesome wolf against the rest of the world
mainly in order to protect personal/national economical interests
also against the rest of the world.

The feature of WAR!! on Version 5.0 is meant as a contribution particularly
against the War in IRAK, but beyond that - against any war, as - if this
war will really come or not-
there will be other wars taking place simultaneously and later, as well.<<

Call for submissions - Netart from Canada

Call for submissions
Netart from Canada

Deadline 28 February 2003
*************************

JavaMuseum -
Forum for Internet Technologies in Contemporary Art
www.javamuseum.org
(JAVA= Joint Advanced Virtual Affairs)

is currently preparing
a new feature in the framework of
2nd of Java Series
focussed on Netart coming from Canada.
>>
Canada does not represent only one of the largest countries of the globe,
but has also two identities in form of two cultural roots manifested in its
bi-linguality English-French.
It is further an immigration country which becomes a home of many people
originating from different countries and cultures.

It represents further an interesting aspect that in Canada the artistic use
of New Media is widely encouraged on an offical and privat level. Some
important international New Media events and initiatives based in Canada
underline this impression.

These are some aspects why it can be of interest to focus on New Media art
from Canada in a special feature.
<<
JavaMuseum would like to invite
all artists with residence in Canada working with Internet related media
to participate in this feature of NetArt from Canada.

The feature will go online in Spring 2003.
<<
Each artist can submit up to three works (URLs), please no works as files
attached.

Please use this entry form for participating and send it to
