Triple Projector Attack! (Loud Objects at Monkey Town)

Thu May 10, 2007 00:00 - Thu May 10, 2007

May 7, 2007 8:30 PM
Loud Objects, Tom Dexter, Wind-Up Bird and Gateway Evening Colours at Monkey Town

Maybe you saw them at Bent last week... live soldering on overhead projectors. Big show tonight with three projectors at Monkey Town with special noise guests!

Flyer at:

The Loud Objects (Tristan Perich, Kunal Gupta, Katie Shima), wielding soldering irons over a ramshackle overhead projector, wire up live musical circuits, gerrymandering electronic noise. Monkey Town is a special space with surround projection screens in a square space with couches. At Monkey Town, the Loud Objects will be using three overhead projectors for the first time, flooding your perceptrons with electronics and noise. (

The Wind-Up Bird is Joseph Grimm, who hails from Providence, RI with his voice, fiddle and laptop. The master of the crescendo, Wind-Up Bird always starts with the most delicate sound that makes you lean in and open your ears, and ends with an incredibly lush and moving wall of sound. It's the most beautiful noise around. (

Gateway Evening Colours are Queens/Brooklynites Alex Farrill (The Shot Heard Round the World), Nate Davis (Knifestorm/Unchained) and Brian House (SHRTW), three folks who are so awesome on their own that we can only guess as to how sweet this show is going to be. (

Jan 30: Loud Objects, Zach Layton, Sawako live at the Gershwin

Tue Jan 30, 2007 00:00 - Tue Jan 30, 2007

Tuesday, Jan 30: curated by Neke Carson, Loud Objects (Tristan Perich, Kunal Gupta, Katie Shima) will be joined by sine-wave sensualist Zach Layton at the Gershwin Hotel, a place that has been home to many artists in the past. The Loud Objects -- working with
smoking soldering irons on an overhead projector -- wire up live musical
circuits, manipulating electronic music. Zach Layton will accompany this
dense soundtrack with an enveloping sonic fabric woven out of pure
sinusoidal oscillations. Beautiful miss sound-scape Sawako will open the night, so please don't be late!
