TALES °F TOMORROW

Exhibition: 27.07. - 01.08.2013
Opening: 26.07.2013 | 7PM

The desire to have children is basically selfish.
Parthenogenesis as a next step for self-preservation is therefore the type of reproduction, which will eventually prevail. Parthenogenesis is a form of unisexual reproduction from unfertilized egg cells.
So far it is mainly practiced by plants and animals.

Experimental parthenogenesis is about the production of the artificial parthenogenesis - for instance by electromagnetic pulses, or by the oscillation light.

Another form of isolation mechanism is the practice of thorough and unrestricted self-use, which is achieved through existential sustainability. By simultaneously extracting and consuming own body streams a cycle is constructed, which prevents waste and invites to radical self-indulgence.

In TALES °F TOMORROW Katharina Knaus and Verena Ledig deal with effective reproduction methods and their opponents, as well as isolation mechanisms in regard to profound sustainability.

Sincerely yours

In|ven|tur [ɪnvɛnˈtuːɐ̯] An Exhibition Of Things That Remain After An Exhibition | GRISCHA LICHTENBERGER

Dates:
Fri Jul 05, 2013 19:00 - Fri Jul 12, 2013

Location:
Berlin, Germany

A painter brings ten works to an exhibition. For a couple of days they remain in the gallery. People roam in between the images: Enjoying them, maybe discussing their appearance or flirting in front of them. One or two of the paintings might even change hands and the 'inventions' of the painter become part of some other person's inventory. When the exhibition is over the artist takes down all the other works and brings them back home. After some years he faces the limits of his storage. Although he has sold some of his work, most of it remained with him. Instead of his usual concern for the paintings themselves - how they look, how to paint, how to finish them, what they might tell and what they won't - he now wonders how to paint again at all.

Installation I: 'all images'
Installation II: 'DIA 13.08.1993'
Sound '0.003 seconds of all files', stacks and rudiments

Concert Grischa Lichtenberger: 05.07.2013 | 9pm
(experimental dj-set)

----

Grischa Lichtenberger was born in Bielefeld 1983. He released several records as an electronic musician (raster-noton, Semantica) and created multimedia installations. Lichtenberger's focus is not only the artistical expression, but the process of creating art in general. Always regarding the complexity and difficulties of communication and material referenciality, he seeks to overcome the dominance of functional interpretations, while maintaining an open access to technology and production. The archive of samples and fragments of overcome and discarded technological artefacts and everyday livestock is enabled by an ethical figure, wherein art is to address and regard the other, without economizing or confining them.

NEVER ODD OR EVEN | PALINDROME

Dates:
Fri Jun 14, 2013 19:00 - Sat Jun 22, 2013

Location:
Berlin, Germany

w/ Hanne Lippard, Marco Mendeni, Ana Mendes, Abinadi Meza, Alex Chinh Nguyen, Chrischa Oswald, Stefan Riebel, Sebastian Schmieg, Ilya Smirnov & Anna Teterkina, Carlo Zanni

Crabs are capable of walking forward or diagonally, but usually they walk sideways. The term "crabs" is used in greek to describe the phenomenon of palindrome, an inscription that may be read backwards. Palindromes were viewed as being immune to tampering by the devil, who would become confused by the repetition of the letters.

NOOE | PALINDROME circles around the approach of reading data again (palin) from a certain direction (dromos). Among the displayed are a NewNewPortrait, the color Beige, a def to getLinkToSimilarImagesPage(self), mountains generated by eBay stock market charts as well as algorithmic cinema and a granny vacuuming the church floor.

We are confused, let yourself be confused too.

Sincerely yours
crab, devil & bob

THE CENTER FOR EPIGENETIC CLONING by Jonathan Keats

Jonathon Keats
THE CENTER FOR EPIGENETIC CLONING

Exhibition: 01.06.-08.06.2013
Opening: 31.05.2013 | 7pm

An American researcher has developed the world's first trouble-free human cloning technique, promising to make replication of people as routine as downloading movies. To market the new methodology, which applies the emerging field of epigenetics, experimental philosopher Jonathon Keats is launching a Berlin-based company that will duplicate some of the most famous living people, including Lady Gaga and Angela Merkel. The company will also clone some of the most well-known figures in history, including Jesus Christ.

"Potentially we can clone anybody who ever lived," claims Mr. Keats. "We can bring them back from the dead, and I don't just mean like a one-time Tupac hologram." To promote the widest possible use of epigenetic cloning, he has made all of the technology open source, and is inviting collaborations from institutions including UNESCO and the Pirate Bay. He is also designing a cocktail to epigenetically clone himself, though he cautions that the consequences of using it will be beyond his control: "My clones will each have a will of their own."

Jonathon Keats's Epigenetic Cloning Agency will be open for business at team titanic from 31st of May to 7th of June, with an opening reception at 7:00 PM the 31st.
