Alfredo Salazar-Caro born in Mexico City, Mexico is a multimedia artist and educator, currently based in Chicago. He works with sculpture and digital media including video, animated gifs, and virtual reality. Through these mediums Alfredo explores phenomenology, identity, memory, and time. Of these concepts, time and memory have become most central to his artistic practice. Recently such concepts have manifested themselves as digital avatars and virtual reconstructions of environments, often creating a form of hyper self-portraiture for participatory engagement and viewing.

In addition to his studio practice Alfredo Salazar-Caro continues to explore curatorial practices as he leads projects such as Street Team— a guerilla installation of .movs and animated gifs composed by several contemporary artists of varying disciplines whose works were projected on permanent collections of major museums and galleries throughout the world.

Alfredo Salazar-Caro has exhibited nationally and internationally in cities such as Dallas, Chicago, New York, Toronto, Amsterdam, London, Berlin, and of course in his hometown Mexico City.
