Re: Queer Video: *One Night Stand* - Revised/Expanded Call

Dates:
Tue Aug 21, 2007 00:00 - Wed Aug 22, 2007

Call for Artists: Queer Video Art: (Slightly) Expanded Call

Robert Summers and Dirty Socks, Inc. will be curating a small-scale
exhibition(ism/voyeurism) titled _One-Night Stand: A Dusk to Dawn
Screening of Queer Video Art Now. It will be held at a local
crack-hustler-flea-motel in Dallas-Fort Worth area on (or around) Feb.
21, 2008, and it will coincide with the 96th Annual College Art
Association's Conference -
though it is not officially a part of this conference or organization.
There will be no admission fee: this is all very punk and DIY. An invite
will be posted in January on our website with all the details of the
dirty event.

This one night stand/event will be the starting point for a larger
exhibition(ism/voyeurism) on "queer" video art, which will take place
in Houston 2008 and then in Los Angeles 2009, when the CAA is there. All artists involved will be able to participate in the LA exhibition as extensively as they wish. For now
there is only the title and a location (a crack/hustler hotel). This exhibition is rather loose
and open ended (all puns intended) so that the work may drive the exhibition.

For the Los Angeles exhibition, you, the artist/s, will get a stack of zines that will be made by a LA-based artist, which discusses the exhibtion as well as the individual videos. You may also submit what you desire to be placed in the zine.

Please forward this to other queer video/DVD artists or artists that use
video (bradly speaking). You mail mail items to Robert Summers, 202 N. Commonwealth Ave., Apt. A, Los Angeles, CA. 90004-3632, USA. Please include a SASE.

More details will follow as the exhibition gets closer. Also, stay tuned for a website!
