Brooklyn Art Fair / BroLab Performance
I’ll be participating in two exhibitions this week and if you’re up and about i hope you’ll stop in. The first is at the Brooklyn Art Fair in DUMBO this weekend (which is free to all) as part of the Brooklyn Art Now Survey Exhibition at curated by James Kalm at 111 Front Street. The show runs from Thursday March 3rd to the Sunday the 5th (12-10pm) — There will be a great BAC (Brooklyn Arts Council) opening Thursday (same night / same building) which i plan to attend from 6 to later.
Second show is a performance by our collaborative BroLab during SITE Fest 2011 on March 5th (this weekend!). BroLab will be performing Autopsy outdoors on the street at 250 Moore Street from 7-9pm as part of a show titled Habeus Corpus. As a bonus we’ll also be having footage of our prior performance, Pump 14, looping at the 3rd Ward Hub Space!
The Hotel at STOREFRONT
Glad to be included alongside fellow “Hotel” residents as part of a summer exhibition arranged by Jason Andrew and Deborah Brown at Storefront Gallery. Up front will be a two person show by artists Jimmy Miracle and Wayne Adams & we’re in the back with small works by myself, Cat Glennon, Ken Madore, Nesta Mayo, and James Reeder. The opening will be on Friday, July 16th from 6:00–9:00 p.m. at Storefront on 16 Wilson Avenue (Brooklyn!).
AIOP Benefit June 22nd
I’ll be participating in Art in Odd Places this October as part of the collaborative “BroLab”. Come Join us this this Tuesday for an evening of sideshow debauchery and to support Art in Odd Places during their Benefit.
Art in Odd Places (AiOP) presents SIDESHOW, a carnival-inspired fundraiser, on Tuesday, June 22, 7-10pm at TheaterLab ( located at 137 W 14th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues.)
Admission only $5 per freak!
Bushwick Open Studios 2010
We’re doing BOS again this year June 5th & 6th 12 – 6pm. I’m joined by artists James Reeder, Ken Madore, Nesta Mayo, Cat Glennon, and Dave Gros at 796 Broadway (2nd + 3rd FLR, building no. 52 on the map). NURTUREart Benefit October 12th
I’ll have a piece in NURTUREart’s annual Benefit and Art Sale hosted this time by Claire Oliver Gallery in Chelsea. NURTUREart is of my favorite non-profits in Brooklyn and an excellent institution to support. Visit http://nurtureart.org for details and to get tickets. AIM 29 at the Bronx Museum
Ken Madore & I are both included in this year’s AIM 29 show curated by Micaela Giovannotti at the Bronx museum of Art – an an annual group show (29th year) of 36 emerging artists that follows a series of seminars and studio visits.
The opening takes place at the same time as a street fair on the Grand Concourse and is on on Sunday June 21st from noon to 6pm.
It’s an amazing group of artists this year and the show should be up for the rest of the summer so i hope many of you can make it out.
2009 Bushwick Biennial & BOS
I’m included in the Bushwick Biennial at NURTUREart Gallery opening Saturday June 6th from 6 to 9 pm. The show at NURTUREart runs from June 6th to July 19th & other participating galleries include Pocket Utopia, English Kills, & Grace Exhibition Space. It looks to be a really great show, visit Bushwickbiennial.com for details.
The Biennial’s opening weekend coincides with Bushwick Open Studios & we’ll have our studios here at 796 Broadway open from 12-6 pm on Saturday June 6th & 12-7pm on Sunday June 7th. (It’s the Flushing Ave Stop on the JMZ trains & we have the two floors above the furniture store!)
Other artists in our space here in Bushwick include Nesta Mayo, Roy Stanfield, & Ken Madore.

RBPMW Open Studio Nov 1st
Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop is having it’s open Studio this Saturday November 1st from 2-6pm. I’ll have a limited edition on display at the 8th floor RBPMW Project Space but be sure to check out all the work displayed in the the 2nd floor workshop & the Elizabeth Foundation Project Space (show opening tomorrow from 6 to 9). RBPMW is at 323 west 39th Street, New York, NY close to Port Authority at 8th Avenue .
Note : RBPMW also has a booth (#63) at this weekend’s Editions Book Art Fair at the Tunnel (269 11th Ave. between 27th & 28th Streets)
