Paul Amitai is an artist, musician, curator, and producer whose work has been presented throughout North America, Europe, and Australia. Amitai created the New York Festival of Electronic Composers and Improvisers at the Knitting Factory and founded a film series program at the Haggerty Museum of Art. He currently produces exhibitions and public programs as Senior Curator at Eyebeam Art + Technology Center.
Amitai exhibits video and installation projects, and performs electronic and improvised music internationally. As a musician, Amitai has shared the stage with Run-DMC, The Skatalites, and The Specials. Amitai has written on electronic arts and culture for New Art Examiner, Signal to Noise, MTV Online, and The Onion. He was a lecturer in visual design and art & technology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. Amitai has also engineered and produced recordings for bands, and done sound design and composed music for award-winning independent films.
