Palle Dahlstedt (Sweden, b. 1971) is a composer, musician and sound artist, as well as a professional programmer. After studying composition in Stockholm, Malmoe and Gothenburg, he is currently living on the island of Branno on the West Coast of Sweden. Dahlstedt's often very intense music ranges from music for films, theatre, dance and installations to instrumental, orchestral and prize-winning electroacoustic pieces, performed all over the world. In 2000 he was a guest researcher at ATR Media Integration & Communication Research Labs in Kyoto, Japan, and he returned to Japan in 2001 to study the music and dance of Noh. He is also a lecturing co-founder of the international master's program in Art & Technology at Chalmers University of Technology, where he is also doing research in creative algorithms. During 2004 he is also Art and Science Research Fellow at Liverpool University, U.K.
