ATHICA presents
Virtual Art @
A Collection of New Media Artwork
Curated by Laura Floyd and Dennis Harper

Athens Institute for Contemporary Art is pleased to
announce Virtual Art @, a collection of
artwork created specifically for the Internet medium
by seven artists from around the world: Christian
Barre, Tom Scarpino, Katie Bush, Nicolas Clauss,
Michael Szpakowski, Jody Zellen, and Kenneth Tin-Kin
Hung. An open call for entries was announced over the
Internet in August, with no specific guidelines for
subject matter: as a natural result, the selected
artwork is wildly divergent in style, content and
function - like the web itself. The pieces are
similar in their elegant use of the medium in concept,
form and technical mastery. The virtual art
collection was curated by ATHICA board members Dennis
Harper, Curator of Exhibitions at the Georgia Museum
of Art, and Laura Floyd, web designer.

Please visit the collection at,
follow the Virtual Art link.
