Laura Ann Meyers
Since 2009
Works in United States of America

Laura Ann Meyers was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. In 2007, she received her BFA in Studio Art from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. Laura Ann is currently living and working in Atlanta, Georgia, where she is pursuing her MFA in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design. She has published several articles in The Connector at SCAD, and her interest in art communities has led her to interning with ART PAPERS magazine. Additionally, she is a coordinator for SCAD’s School of Fine Arts Guest Artist Series, which hosts round table discussions, lectures, and critiques from artists and art professionals.

Laura Ann is exploring parallels between the Victorian era and the contemporary South, and her work addresses themes of innocence, loss, rites of passage, memory and childhood. Fairy-tale expectations are met with disappointment or sarcasm, and the truth of memory becomes futile.
