John Gerrard is an artist and technologist based in Dublin, Ireland. He recieved a BFA in Sculpture from the Ruskin School of Art (Oxford University) in 1997, and an MFA in Art and Technology from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2000. Most recently he has completed an MSc in the Computer Science Department of Trinity College, Dublin. Recent projects include the Audio Visual Presenter, a radical new piece of video editing software that allows the user to manipulate up to 6 video streams in realtime. This software was recently used in the 'Digiboarding' project in Dublin. See for more information.
From January 2003 John will spend 9 months in the FutureLab of the Ars Electronica Centre, Austria, on a Pepiniere scholarship. There he will work with responsive 3D portraiture.
