BIO
*1956 in Switzerland. Studies in Art History, Theoretical Linguistics and Philosophy. Co-founder in 1978 of a video production cooperative. Since then he is specializing in analog hardware. From 1983 to 2001 freelance photographer and media technician. From 1988 to 2002 he was teaching technology and esthetics of video art at the art school of Berne. Since 2001 professor for conservation and restoration of electronic media at the Berne Universitiy of the arts BUA. Director of the research project www.aktivearchive.ch, which is supported by the Swiss federal office for culture. In 2008 he was co-curator of the Exhibition of Swiss video art of the 70es and 80es in the Museum of fine arts Lucerne.
