Hilary Harp is a sculptor and electronic media artist whose installations, performances and videos have been presented widely nationally and internationally. She received her M.F.A. in sculpture from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, PA and also studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine. She has exhibited her work at many galleries and institutions including: the Gale Gates Gallery, The Sculpture Center, White Columns and Esso Gallery in New York City; Delaware Center for Contemporary Art in Wilmington, DE; The Philadelphia Art Alliance and the Samuel Fleisher Art Memorial in Philadelphia, PA. She has been artist in residence at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, MA and the Kohler Center for Arts and Industry in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Since 2003 she has worked collaboratively on projects with Suzie Silver which have exhibited widely, including at Pittsburgh Filmmakers Gallery, Pittsburgh, PA and Bucheon Gallery, San Francisco. Their single channel videos, have screened internationally, including the 2004 Stuttgarter Flimwinter, Germany; ENTERmultimediale 2, Czech Republic; Biennale Internazionale di Ferrara. Italy; Angle: The First International Short Film and Video Festival. China; and Arcipelago, 13th International Festival of Short Films and New Images, Italy. She has received numerous awards including a Pew Fellowship in the Arts, a Heinz Creative Heights Grant, and an Arizona Commission on the Arts Project Grant. Harp is currently Assistant Professor of Sculpture at Arizona State University.
