At what point will common sense prevail

At what point will common sense prevail is a production by artist Garrett Phelan, curated by René Zechlin as part of the Lewis Glucksman Gallery Projects programme. The project consists of 26 sound works which will be presented for a 5 year period on the dedicated website: www.atwhatpointwillcommonsenseprevail.com.

At what point will common sense prevail marks the second phase of a series of projects by Garrett Phelan exploring the ‘formation of opinion’, particularly manifested through independent FM radio transmission projects, drawing, video, photography and web based projects in both art gallery and public environments.

http://www.youtube.com/trustedservant

The artist Garrett Phelan was invited and entrusted by curator Rachael Thomas and artist/curator Philippe Parreno to close the critically acclaimed exhibition '.all hawaii eNtrees /luNar reGGae' located at the Irish Museum of Modern Art. Parreno's approach, focusing on the notion of process, was to go beyond the real/physical space of the museum and as a part of this process Garrett Phelan has been entrusted by the curators to close this exhibition.

Trusted Servant also functions as part of Phelan's current exploration into the 'Formation of Opinion' (2003_ ongoing). Phelan becomes the gatekeeper of '.all hawaii eNtrees / luNar reGGae' with the removal of Trusted Servant from YouTube, at his discretion, marking the official end of '.all Hawaii eNtrees/lunar reGGae'.
